Rylan Clark has revealed his mother Linda has been diagnosed with skin cancer during his BBC Radio 2 show.
The It Takes Two host shared the diagnosis with his loyal legion of listeners over the weekend as the star’s mum recovered from facial surgery.
While listeners tuned in for their weekly instalment of the larger-than-life radio host, the 33-year-old clarified the form of cancer she has is not life threatening but required further tests to remove it.
The loving son reassured fans that the pair are working quickly to get rid of the deadly disease and are optimistic for the future.
He updated fans on her condition on Saturday ahead of the festive Halloween activities.
Rylan told listeners: “I should probably tell people what we’re talking about. So mummy, and it’s all fine, she’s got skin cancer on her face, but she’s absolutely fine.
“It’s not life-threatening and it’s just spread a little bit, so we’re getting it all cut away.”
But this isn’t the first time the Celebrity Gogglebox star has struggled with her health as Rylan previously opened up about her battle with severe Crohn’s Disease.
When the Essex-native appeared on Loose Women back in 2019, Rylan confessed: “My mum has suffered all my life from severe Crohn’s disease and I don’t think Crohn’s get spoke about as much as it [should]. I nearly lost my mum last year, again. For the third time.”
Crohn’s is an inflammatory bowel disease and the effects of the deadly disease caused Linda to develop sepsis.
The pair both appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox last year but failed return for this year’s special due to Linda’s ongoing health battle.
It comes after the presenter broke down on his BBC Radio 2 show last month, while his co-workers played music to give him time to collect himself, according to The Sun.
The TV star reassured fans that he was doing okay as producers offered him a year away from TV and radio to look after his mental health.
He took to Instagram to address the rumours online, writing: “Couple of news stories today. Be assured, I’m good. I wasn’t but now I am x.”
