A poignant message shared by Sarah Harding on dealing with the loss of a loved one has been shared online.
The Girls Aloud star tragically passed away from cancer over the weekend at the age of 39.
She has since been remembered by her former bandmates Cheryl, Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle and Kimberley Walsh and celebrity friends including Davina McCall and Lizzie Cundy.
Posting to Twitter on Tuesday, Sarah was also remembered by a fan who shared a message they had previously received from the Celebrity Big Brother winner on dealing with grief.
The fan explained: “Want to share a message with you all Sarah sent me when I lost a family member.
“Never did I imagine it would be her loss I would feel.”
Screenshots of two Instagram messages sent by Sarah were then shared by the fan.
In her response, the late singer encouraged them to “celebrate” their lost loved one and urged them not to “grieve forever”.
“I can relate in many ways,” Sarah said in one of her messages.
She added: “Losing those [you] love is one of the hardest things but [you] cannot allow yourself to grieve forever, celebrate what you had and shared together.
“These are the things that live on within [you] xxx.”
Sarah’s death was confirmed by her mother Marie in an Instagram post on Sunday.
The popstar went public with her cancer diagnosis in August last year.
Speaking ahead of her death, Sarah confirmed that delaying seeking treatment during the coronavirus pandemic had led to the cancer spreading from her breasts to her spine.
Her ex-boyfriend Chad Johnson recently said that the childless star ‘dreamed of being a mum’.
He told The Sun: “I always thought Sarah would have been an amazing mum.
“She had such a motherly vibe; she was very caring towards the people she loved. And she loved children.”
