Brooke Sheilds has opened up about when she confirmed to the world back in 1985 that she was still a virgin.
Aged 20 at the time, the Blue Lagoon actress addressed the issue in her book but has since said that the confession “never left her alone”.
Indeed, she was branded “the most famous virgin in the world”.

In the latest espide of her podcast, Brooke, 57, said: “I think that it was, in hindsight, a bit of a mistake for me to be so open about my virginity.”
She also said that to make matters worse, she didn’t even write that particular chapter – her publisher rejected her version.
The book, called On Your Own, was supposed to be a coming of age novel about leaving home and going to college but instead, everyone focused on the chapter about her virginity.
Brooke continued: “Here was one part of a chapter where I discuss, not abstinence per se, but owning your choice.
“I would get a lot of fan mail from kids saying, ‘Oh, my boyfriend’s pressuring me, and I don’t want to have sex. What do I do?’ My narrative was, ‘You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.’”
The fascination with her virginity then led to “creepy” talk show hosts quizzing her about her sex life. But in the end, it served her well, Brooke said.
She added: “To be in the line of fire at such a young age in that way, I gained a resilience, and it set me up to be ready for anything in this industry, which can be difficult.”
As well as being a talented actress, Brooke is also known for her relationship with Michael Jackson.
They met when they were 13 and “instantly became friends”.
She even spoke at the late pop star’s funeral, saying: “We had a bond… Both of us needed to be adults very early, but when we were together, we were two little kids having fun.”
