Casualty cast hottest bombshells – from rival soaps, hottest pics to lads mags

Casualty has been entertaining medical drama fans for generations.

First debuting in 1986, the serial has been a hit with BBC One viewers and has spawned household names for it’s gritty and dramatic storylines.

Along with the incredibly long list of impressive awards taken home by the stars, fans have always been in awe of their dazzling looks too.

The show kicked off on September 6 in 1986, so to celebrate its many years on-screen, Daily Star takes a look back at some of the biggest bombshells to walk inside the hallways of Holby City hospital.

Gemma Atkinson

Pin-up Gemma Atkinson joined the medical serial in 2011 as is a paramedic who worked for the Holby Ambulance Service. After departing in 2012, she reprised the role in 2014.

Previously a glamour model, she’s appeared in magazines such as Zoo, Nuts, Maxim, Loaded and was named on FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women list in 2006 as number 32.

She later shot a cover and moved up the ranks to number 18 in 2008.

The actress has also been involved in several other serial dramas. The bombshell played the role of Carly Hope in Emmerdale from 2015 until 2017.

She also played Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks on and off from 2001 until 2005 as well as in three of the soap’s spin off series. She later reprised the role in March 2022.

Christine Tremarco

Christine first guest starred in Casualty in 2010 as Linda Andrews, but the character was so popular she was promoted to one of the series leads in 2011.

She is also very well known for her role as secretary and learning support assistant, Davina Shackleton in the hit school drama, Waterloo Road.

Christine first rose to fame in 1992 when a casting agent discovered and cast her in The Leaving of Liverpool which aired on both Australian TV as well as in the UK on BBC One.

Amanda Mealing

Amanda is best known for her role as Connie Beauchamp in both Casualty as well as the popular spin-off series Holby City.

The character was first introduced as a consultant in emergency medicine in 2004. The character would be involved in many high profile storylines and eventually became Clinical Lead ten years later in 2014.

She’s the mother of Emily Carey who stars in the Game Of Thrones Spin-Off, House Of The Dragon on HBO and can regularly be seen posting sensual pictures on her Instagram.

Claire Goose

Scottish actress made an immediate impression on fans of the long-running medical drama portraying the sexy nurse Tina Seabrook and was one of the series original and iconic bombshells.

The character was first introduced as a staff nurse in Holby City Hospital’s emergency department and has been described as confident and feisty although a bit naïve.

Tina was so popular with viewers, that Claire earned a nomination for Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards.

She also had roles as Mel Silver in Waking the Dead as well as her role as a bride in her twenties in Unforgotten.

Kelly Harrison

Born in 1980 and after modelling for four years, Kelly was cast in Casualty as paramedic Nikki Marshall. She was a series regular on the programme from 2001 until 2004.

She has also had numerous parts in other TV dramas including Waking the Dead, The Bill, and in 2015 she guest starred in an episode of another medical soap, Doctors.

The bombshell recently played the role of Elsa Tilsley in Coronation Street in 2018 and 2019 over a 12 episode story arc as well as serving as the voice of Belle in the popular children’s series Nina and the Neurons.

Leanne Wilson

Leanne first starred in Doctors before going onto star in Casualty. Since the series, she has had various appearances including the hit film The Holiday in 2006 as well as in Peep Show in 2007

Before Casualty, Leanne appeared in another BBC medi-drama, Doctors in 2001 playing the role of Candy Williams.

But it was her role as Claire Guildford in Casualty for 90 episodes between 2003 and 2005 that she is best known for.

However the actress was known as a massive pin-up too, making it onto FHM’s list of their 100 Sexiest Women coming in at number 70.

Subsequent roles have included an appearances in the popular Christmas film The Holiday in 2006 alongside Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet, an appearance in the hit comedy Peep Show in 2007 as well as a guest appearance in the medi-drama House in 2011 alongside Hugh Laurie.

Sarah Manners

Sarah left the drama set to compete in the second series of Strictly Come Dancing where she received much public adoration after she burst into tears following an argument with Brendan Cole.

Sarah Manners first appeared in an episode of EastEnders in 1997 but she was later cast as Joanna Helm in the BBC One soap, Doctors.

She starred in that show for 157 episodes until 2001 and it was only 2 years when she was cast as the receptionist Bex Reynolds.

The blonde bombshell also made a cameo for 1 episode in 2004 on the sister show Holby City.

She later departed the series to appear on the second series of Strictly Come Dancing, where she came in sixth place and earned much public adoration after she burst into tears following an argument with her partner Brendan Cole.
