Celebrity MasterChef star Melanie Blatt was seen bursting into tears on the latest episode of the BBC cooking show after meeting her “idol”, British Bake Off star, Mary Berry.
The 47-year-old All Saints singer admitted she was anxious after host Gregg Wallace introduced their special guest for tonight’s food challenge, admitting this was a “big moment” in her life.
As Mary made the rounds on the chefs as they attempted to cook on her recipes in just 90 minutes, Mel, 47, was seen telling the camera: “I have more anxiety than usual because I’m such a fan.

“I wanna make Mary proud, I just want her to love me like I love her.
When Mary finally arrived at Mel’s table, she admitted that one of the first recipe books she bought was her,s before telling her “this is a big moment for me” and telling her she loved her before she was seen bursting into tears.
As Mel wiped the tears away from her eyes with her t-shirt, Mary embraced the star and thanked her for being such a fan.
Viewers immediately reacted to the star’s emotional moment.
“I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed someone so in awe of their idol as Melanie Blatt is with Mary Berry #celebritymasterchef,” said one fan.
A second added: “Mel having absolutely zero chill in front of Mary Berry was very cute.”
While a third agreed: “lol major fangirl moment from Mel over mary berry I’d probably be the same tbh.”
Some fans also blasted the episode for giving some celebrities harder dishes than others. While some had to skin fish and make difficult savoury dishes with lots of elements, other were given recipes fans thought were much easier like meringue.
“#CelebrityMasterChef Danny’s got the hardest dish…” said one viewer.
Another added: “Is it just me but did Kitty just get the easiest recipe out of the lot of them?..no skinning fish or making own pastry, the only think she made is pesto, piece of cake… and well edited by the Beeb…#celebritymasterchef.”
“Some of these recipes are more difficult than others,” a third added.

Some fans questioned the timing of the episode as the remaining seven celebrities were tasked with cooking a dish dedicated to Her Majesty the Queen in celebration of this year’s Platinum Jubilee.
Bust most dubbed the episode “perfect” timing as it honoured the death of the late monarch.
