Coronation Street's Alison King 'splits' from fiancé after postponing wedding

Coronation Street’s Alison King has reportedly split from her fiancé after four years of dating.

The 49-year-old actress, who is best known for her role as Carla Connor on the ITV soap, is said to have gone her separate ways from her fiancé David Stuckey.

The duo started dating in March 2018 and after a whirlwind romance the duo got engaged the following year and planned to tie the knot in Greece in May 2020.

With worldwide lockdowns in place at the time, they were unable to go ahead with their luxurious wedding and instead decided to postpone their big day.

However, it’s now been reported that almost two years after making the decision to postpone, the duo have ended their relationship.

A source claimed to The Sun that the pair “grew apart” and have decided to separate, adding: “They parted amicably and both wish each other the best in the future.”

The source added that the pair “both knew that it wasn’t right”.

Prior to cancelling their big day, it was said the pair were holding out hope that they could make their wedding work despite all the restrictions.

However, they were unable to go ahead, and a postponed date was yet to be confirmed.

David proposed to Alison in 2019 during a sunset cruise on their one-year anniversary, with the actress purchasing a Rolex as an engagement present for her beau.

She said in a magazine interview at the time: “I had an inkling he was going to pop the question because he kept putting something on my finger and going, ‘Right, close your eyes and forget this ever happened’.”

Alison tends to keep her personal life out of the limelight and keeps her cards very close to her chest when it comes to anything off-screen.

The star is surrounded by a lot of drama on the soap, but she closes the door on it when she heads home.

Alison joined the ITV soap in 2006 and has seen some of the biggest storylines ever on Corrie, including an alcoholism battle, a sexual assault and her mental health breakdown.
