EastEnders fans are totally convinced Roxy Mitchell’s return to Albert Square is “sealed” despite her heartbreaking exit six years ago.
On January 1, 2017, Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) and her sister Ronnie (Samantha Womack), tragically drowned in a swimming pool.
Both sisters exited the soap on the same fateful night, but now there are rumours that one of them could be returning to the beloved soap.

Rumours about Roxy’s potential return have been circulating on Twitter after Rita quote retweeted an old image of her character alongside her on-screen daughter Amy, now played by Ellie Dadd.
Writing alongside the snap, she penned: “Is this my offspring?”
Replying to the tweet, one fan penned: “Hopefully you get to share the screen with her one day,” while another bluntly said: “Roxy died.”
Rita sparked return rumours even more when she responded: “So did Cathy. And Den. And Bobby Ewing.”
Following on from Rita’s cheeky tweet, fans are going wild at the prospect and possibility that Roxy could return.
With fan theories alight on Reddit, one person fumed: “Bobby Ewing’s resurrection killed Dallas. Both Dirty Den and Kathy died offscreen. Roxy and Ronnie died onscreen. It sucks. It was one of the worst decisions the show has made. But it was made. Sadly they’re gone for good.”
Someone then replied: “Saw someone comment a while back that a way to get around it would be to say they faked their death to get away from a dealer or something, personally I’d go for it, anything to get Ronnie and Roxy back.”
A third then echoed the other user’s theory when they said: “They could bring them both back, just say their deaths were faked to escape a dealer and Jack knew. Then they went into witness protection and Roxy comes back after hearing about Amy self harming.”
Adding: “I think most fans would just accept something like that just to get two great characters back.”
“She could do – With Amy going through all her stuff, there’s no reason she couldn’t appear in a dream or a hallucination with her,” penned a fourth.
While a fifth Reddit user replied: “That’s an idea! That’s really the only way we could ever realistically see her again.”
EastEnders airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
