Every Britain's Got Talent judge and where they are now – including ones you'd forgotten

Britain’s Got Talent returned to our screens last month for the first time in two years.

Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams are the four making up the judging panel this time around, with Ant and Dec back behind the curtain, hosting the ITV talent show.

Since the show began back in 2007, we’ve seen a bunch of judges come and go. Some stayed for a number of series, while others failed to see out a month.

We’ve had BAFTA-nominated presenters and controversial talk show hosts, but how many can you remember?

Here, we’ve taken a look at every BGT judge to date and where they are now.

Piers Morgan

Piers Morgan was a judge on BGT

Controversial TV presenter Piers Morgan was one of the original judges, start of the show, leaving at the end of the show’s fourth season in 2010.

Paul Potts, George Sampson, Diversity and gymnastics troupe Spelbound all won BGT while Morgan was on the panel.

Since leaving the show, Morgan has become one of the biggest TV star’s in the UK, pulling in millions of viewers while hosting ITV’s Good Morning Britain with Susanna Reid.

He was a divisive figure for GMB viewers and dramatically walked off the show live on air after a spat with co-host Alex Beresford over his comments about Meghan Markle.

Confirming he had quit the show, he later announced that he would be heading up his own programme on the new TalkTV channel. Piers Morgan: Uncensored started last month.

Despite kicking things off with an explosive interview with former president Donald Trump, Morgan suffered a setback as the ratings for his new show plummeted after just one week.

He has anchored his divisive new show since TalkTV launched on April 25 this year.

David Hasselhoff

David ‘The Hoff’ Hasselhoff was chosen as the man to replace Piers Morgan back in 2010.

He is best known for playing Mitch Buchannon on 90s TV series Baywatch.

The American star judged on BGT for just one series, declining to return the next year.

Since leaving the show, the 69-year-old has focused on his music career.

In 2019, he released his 14th album, Open Your Eyes. It consisted mainly of covers, including Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline.

He went on a tour across Germany, Austria and Switzerland later that year before releasing his first heavy metal song in 2020.

He revealed in 2016 that he was broke and unable to support his ex-wife’s large payouts.

The Hoff said he had less than $4,000 in his bank account.

Michael McIntyre

When Michael McIntyre joined as a BGT judge back in 2011 he made history as the fifth season marked the first time the talent show had four judges instead of five.

Like The Hoff, he served as a BGT judge for just one series.

Fortunately for him his career – which took off when he began hosting Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow – has continued to soar.

In 2014, he had his own chat show and since 2016, he has hosted Michael McIntyre’s Big Show which aired on Saturday nights on BBC One until 2017.

In 2020, Michael began hosting BBC gameshow The Wheel, which was nominated for best entertainment performance at the 2022 BAFTA’s.

Louis Walsh

Although never a main BGT judge, Louis Walsh regularly served as a guest judge during series four and five.

The Irish star is best known as a judge on ITV singing show X Factor where he often managed the groups.

After he stopped appearing on BGT, Walsh continued to serve faithfully on the X Factor judging panel until it was axed in 2021.

He mentored Megan McKenna, the first winner of X Factor: Celebrity in 2019.

In 2018, he was the judge of BGT spin-off Ireland’s Got Talent, however the show only ran for two series before it was cancelled.

Since 2014, he has been a judge on sustainable fashion show Junk Kouture.

Ashley Banjo

Ashley Banjo became the only person to win BGT and appear as a judge when he had a stint on the panel in 2020.

He replaced Simon Cowell during the live shows for series 14 and the Christmas special while the BGT head honcho recovered from a back injury.

Banjo won the show in 2009 with his dance troupe Diversity in a surprise victory over singing sensation Susan Boyle.

He continues to dance and choreograph routines with Diversity but has since moved towards a new role as a TV judge.

He is currently appearing as a judge on ITV Dancing on Ice after he joined the show in 2018.

He has also been a co-presenter of The Real Full Monty since 2017.

Carmen Electra

In 2012, American actress, model and singer Carmen Electra appeared on the judging panel for auditions in London.

She stepped in to replace Amanda Holden who was absent from the shows due to complications she had faced after giving birth to her second daughter.

Since her short stint on BGT, Carmen has enjoyed TV appearances as herself in dramas including comedy Jane the Virgin and The Last Dance.

She also made a brief appearance on reality show Dance Mom’s and Worst Cook in America.

Kelly Brook

Model and actress Kelly Brook was a guest judge for one episode of series three of BGT.

Producers had originally planned for Kelly to be a main judge in a huge shake-up to the shows format.

She was axed after less than a week on the show with producers claiming the new four-judge format was “too complicated”.

She was later credited as a guest judge for the episode she appeared in.

Since her BGT snub, Kelly has enjoyed multiple TV appearances on shows including Celebrity Juice and The Masked Dancer in 2021 where she was unasked as Frog.

In 2018, she was also a regular panellist on ITV Loose Women.

Brook recently celebrated her seven-year anniversary with partner Jeremy Parisi, whom she called “the one.”
