Singer-turned-psychologist Tom explained how their tour manager brushed shoulders with death during the peak of their fame while performing in the heart of Miami.

He explained: “We were sat outside a hotel in Miami with our tour manager when someone on the seventh floor opened the windows to have a smoke and the window fell off.

“And then [the smoker] fell seven floors and hit our tour manager Jamie on the head, broke his neck very nearly killed him. So that was a moment of Russian Roulette.”

But the musical duo didn’t just fear death once in their career, as Tom Findlay went on to reveal how Andy was almost “sliced in half” by a steel panel.

He added: “We had a moment when we were sound checking in the round house in London where they’d just fixed the roof.

“We were checking out the sub-base noise and this huge steel panel dropped in front of me, about 30 centimetres and sliced a fire case in half. So, we’ve done the near-death thing.”

He added: “We wrote a song about that, a song called Drop That Panel in honour of the round house sound check.”
