ITV The Chase fans fume as show is delayed in schedule shakeup for PM coverage

ITV viewers were left fuming after popular gameshow The Chase was delayed to make way for live coverage of Liz Truss’ inauguration as British Prime Minister.

The quiz show, which sees players compete against brainiac quizmasters to win money for their team, has a loyal following and despite being listed on the streaming site’s schedule, the show was aired 30 minutes late because of Truss’ speech.

“Liz, as new PM you should realise that the public do not take kindly to #thechase been impacted by politicians,” blasted on viewer.”

“Just realised they’ve cancelled #TheChase for this crap!” said a third.

Despite many believing the show had been cancelled, the show did eventually air, though fans did not appreciate the lack of information from the network and many appeared to switch off.

“Phew it’s on #TheChase,” said one relieved viewer.

“Just me watching coz most ppl switched off an gave up waiting for the chase.”

Fans of Tipping Point also took to Twitter to voice their outrage that the programme was cancelled to make way for the PM coverage.

Instead of the hit quiz show, fronted by Ben Shepherd, an hour-long news special was aired as the nation welcomed a new Prime Minister.

But despite such big news, Tipping Points fiends were not impressed.

One irate watcher simply said: “Where the f*** is Tipping Point” while another added: “What a waste of time could have had #tippingpoint on!”

Another called the news special “drivel” and said they were “devastated” at the rescheduling.

A third admitted that even though they were not a Tipping Point fan, they would prefer to watch than “hearing the words of Liz Truss for the millionth time”.

Yet another lamented how “domestic programming” such as Tipping Point had “fallen foul” of the news.

Fortunately for viewers, both shows will return to their normal scheduled times tomorrow, with the Tipping Point starting at 4pm and The Chase to follow at 5pm on ITV1.
