The star was so nervous that he “drank six beers beforehand and couldn’t perform” – so he immediately thought his penis was broken.
In the book Matt said he “failed to make the correlation between the booze and my private parts not working”, as he declared that for “years” after the awkward incident he thought sex was something for other people.
He explained that he believed he was (con)genitally impotent – but luckily it all changed after one wild night.
Speaking on one reported night with Tricia Fisher the Friends star explained that he told her he was destined to repeat his initial night for the rest of his days.
However, the actress told him to “come with me”, and assured him the wild moment was “never going to happen again”.
Matthew wrote in the book: “With that, she walked over to me, took my hand, led me back to bed, laid me down and sure enough… sheer glory for two whole minutes!”
He said that night he “finally first misplaced” his virginity then “lost it altogether” and declared that his impotence has not been a part of his vocabulary ever since.
Matthew explained that he managed to “pay the debt” to Tricia by “sleeping with almost every woman in Southern Carolina”.
The life-changing moment certainly made an impact for the Friends star who went on to bed multiple women.
The star puts the reason behind it as wanting to captivate attention in every room he entered after watching his mother do the very same as a child.
He said he is addicted to “the turn”, adding that once it happened he could “make a woman laugh and want him sexually”.
However he confessed that once they’d bedded one another he wasn’t fulfilled, adding: “Once the sex was done, reality set in, and I realised I didn’t know these women at all.”
He added that he solely wanted “the turn” and that’s why he wanted to bed so many women.
Matthew has opened up further about his experiences in his book Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, available now.
