Maura Higgins 'bills designer £12,000 for loss of earnings' after 'inappropriate' dress

Maura Higgins has reportedly billed fashion designer Scott Henshall for over £12,000 for a “loss of earnings”.

The incident comes after the star refused to wear a dress Scott had designed for her to wear at the British Fashion Awards.

Higgins was invited to attend the star studded event at the beginning of December, where celebrities including Naomi Campbell and Maya Jama worked the red carpet.

Celebs were papped left, right and centre, but fans grew concerned after they noticed the Love Island icon was absent from the lineup on the night.

She was set to attend and wear a dress designed by Henshall, which allegedly took inspiration from a chainmail dress Paris Hilton wore in 2002.

However, her evening came to a halt after she decided to ditch the dress.

Higgins did not attend the event and deemed the ensemble “not very appropriate,” which has led to the reality star sending a large bill Scott’s way.

According to Mail Online, the 32-year-old bombshell has sent the designer a hefty charge of £12,810.72 – £675.60 of which is for hairstyling.

A source told the publication: “Maura is attempting to charge Scott over £12,000 for loss of earnings after she skipped the British Fashion Awards.”

The insider went on to say that the situation had been a “disaster” and claimed Maura had “insisted on having her own glam squad on the day”.

On the night of the British Fashion Awards, Maura turned to social media to address the fact that she wouldn’t be attending.

She said that she had received messages asking where she was and explained why she hadn’t take to the red carpet.

Higgins admitted: “I’ve had a bit of a nightmare. So, obviously as you can see, I am fully ready. Glam team are on point, as usual. Basically, the dress, the shoes, everything, just wasn’t something that I’d probably wear.”

She continued: “I just feel like it’s not very appropriate for the Fashion Awards and obviously I do like to do daring – you guys know that – but I just feel it’s not right.”
