EastEnders’ Max Bowden has reportedly grown close to co-star Charlie Brooks after his split from Shona McGarty following a series of bust-ups.
Max, 27, was dating the soap star Shona, 31, but their romance apparently cooled. The actor, who became a dad in September, is now have believed to have grown close to Charlie, 41.
Max is said to have given up on the booze, with an EastEnders source saying: “She’s been a bit of a shoulder for him to cry on too. Charlie is a great role model for Max.

“She’s always really open about the benefits of giving up partying hard and how much her life has changed for the better because of it.”
Max reportedly wanted to calm down with the birth of his first child by former girlfriend Roisin Buckle, 37, with the source adding: “Max realised he needed to sort his life out.”
The Ben Mitchell actor had started to date insurance executive Shona, who plays Whitney Dean, but she was said to be “humiliated and disrespected” by his behaviour.

Speaking on her podcast in July, Roisin reportedly said she had not heard from Max in two months and that he had missed the 20-week scan for their baby, Reginald Buckle.
Last night, Charlie, who says she is “looking for love”, said: “I’ve known Max for years. He’s basically like a little brother.”
