Spice Girl Emma Bunton surprises staff at Amazon fulfilment centre

This is the moment Amazon employees received a special Christmas visit – from Spice Girl, Emma Bunton.

Employees at the Tilbury fulfilment centre in Essex were surprised and delighted to see “Baby Spice” turn up unannounced during a shift in the lead up to Christmas.

The singer-turned-presenter stopped to chat with employees – while also treating them with a sneak preview of a new children’s book she has narrated for the brand.

Emma Bunton revealed she loved reading bedtime stories, because she liked being able to perform for her children.

And she also admitted her husband Jade would get fully into character when reading stories – with both of them doing so to bring the words to life.

Emma has been given a new opportunity to read for kids as the narrator of a new children’s book, which is available as a free download from today (December 15th).

Entitled “Uncle Jay’s Dream Team”, the book is a celebration of employees, partners, and drivers, that recognises all the people behind every delivery.

It’s a tale of teamwork, and follows a young girl named Avery, whose Uncle Jay coaches her out of the disappointing loss of a football match with a motivating pep talk.

Pulling in his friends and co-workers from the fulfilment centre where he works, Uncle Jay, with the help of Mum, shows it takes real teamwork to reach your goals.

Emma said: “Jade and I have always loved reading to our children. It’s such a special one-on-one time where we can all immerse ourselves into a world within the pages.

“As a family, we also love to adopt different character voices and entertaining each other while reading.

“So, I’m very excited to be able read this fun tale for a lot more children around the UK.”

To celebrate the launch of the book, Emma delighted employees at the Tilbury fulfilment centre, as she visited the team ahead of her Christmas Party 2022 solo tour.

Emma, a seller on the platform herself, experienced the journey of a package and the employee teamwork brought to life in the book.

A spokesman from Amazon added: “This holiday season, we wanted to recognise the amazing work our employees do, collaborating with Emma to create the heart-warming tale of Uncle Jay’s Dream Team, which celebrates and honours our employees.

“Much of our success comes from our dream team of employees who work together at our fulfilment centres, who end up delighting children like Avery every day.

“And it was great to show Emma around our fulfilment centre so she could meet first-hand the incredible people who delight our customers every day.”

Uncle Jay’s Dream Team will be available for free to download on Amazon Kindle from December 15th, and on Audible later this month.
