The Traitors' Amos 'felt like he was watching own funeral' after Amanda murder twist

The Traitors star Amos Ogunkoya has admitted it felt like he was watching his own funeral after Amanda Lovett sealed his “murder” with a kiss of death.

Amos, who was a Faithful, was eliminated from the BBC show after being murdered “in plain sight” by sneaky Amanda – and he has said he’d have done exactly the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star after his elimination, the North London doctor said: “For me, I would much rather be murdered.

“I see myself as a reasonably honest person, I probably wouldn’t have made a good Traitor. I could probably play the role and do it intelligently.

“Being murdered, it’s almost like you get to watch your own funeral.

“With my mental health stuff in the past I’ve wondered what people think of me, and you got to see that, oh my god, people actually like me, and even the people that were murdering me were like, ‘He’s really intelligent,’ it was a lovely thing to see, but not nice to see them upset.”

Viewers watched as Andrea Addison and Kieran Tompsett got particularly upset when Amos’ elimination was revealed at breakfast the next morning.

And he believes this is why Traitors Amanda and Wilfred Webster chose to get rid of him.

“It’s the threat – and I was,” he told us. “Mine and Kieran’s alliance was too strong. Mine and Andrea’s alliance was too strong. And even aspects of mine and Aaron’s was too strong.

“They say I was one of the leaders of the Faithful, and I was, so I would kill me too.”

Amos confessed he was certain Wilf was a Traitor from the moment he rejoined the show, however he didn’t feel good about putting him through the stress of having to defend himself in the nightly banishments.

He told us: “When I say I was 100% sure it was Wilf – I knew he was a Traitor, but after the Rayan thing, his banishment really got to me. It didn’t get shown but it really got to me.

“There were bits, similar to Aaron, I was just fresh in the game so I wasn’t fully in the mode, but I was like, ‘This isn’t worth doing this to people,’ and I saw how much Wilf wanted it that night when I accused him.

“I thought he either wants to really win, or he’s innocent and I’m not gonna test that because it’s not worth it to do that to people for me.”

However Amos admitted he was “surprised” to discover Amanda was a Traitor.

“Amanda’s got such a wise head,” he told us. “She’s not a puppeteer but she’s very good – she’s a Traitor that is Faithful at heart, she has the heart of a really nice person, so for her, she only becomes a Traitor when she gets into the turret.

“But I think Wilf is probably the weaker link, because he is genuinely loved by everyone and you can see the aspects of what he has to do really gets to him, whereas Amanda goes, I was randomly selected, I’m just gonna enjoy it, so I think they’re a strong team.”

Now with just a few episodes left, Amos is hopeful that the Faithfuls – and especially Andrea – will win, but the Faithfuls haven’t got a very good track record, so only time will tell.

The Traitors continues Tuesday night at 9pm on BBC One.
