The Channel 4 drama got a frosty reception from many viewers when it aired its first episode on Wednesday (December 21), but it seems the backlash hasn’t stopped there.

Angry fans took to Twitter to complain about BAFTA-winning actress Chanel Cresswell’s portaryal of Coleen during the second episode on Thursday night.

It’s clear punters took issue with Chanel’s attempt at a Liverpudlian accent – and they weren’t afraid to give their brutally honest opinion.

A third fumed: “that women’s scouse accent is awful. Why couldn’t they get a proper scouser!!? We DON’T sound like that!!!!!”

A fourth admitted they were thinking of switching off as they penned: “Oh I don’t know if I can watch part 2….this accent is nothing like a Liverpool accent”

The court dismissed Vardy’s claim on the bases that Rooney’s statements were substantially true.
