Bill Bailey admitted that he was “trolled” by His Majesty, The King.

The TV personality was welcomed onto Friday’s edition (July 18) of ITV’s Lorraine by Christine Lampard to promote his new show Bill Bailey’s Master Crafters: The Next Generation.

It will follow nine junior crafters by royal appointment, who specialise in three heritage crafts, take part in bespoke masterclasses to help them improve in their chosen fields.

Christine, 44, made sure to press the comic on the so-called friendship with King Charles III.

Christine exclaimed: “You best pals with them at this point.”

To which Bill replied: “I wouldn’t say best pals, we’re not on a WhatsApp group!”

The host then jokingly pointed to the pairs shared history as an image of the pair was then shown on-screen.

Bill explained: “This was at a charity gig that I was playing the tuned cowbells.

“And he said to me, he goes [speaking in the voice of the king] ‘how do you get the cows to shake their heads in the right order?’

“I was like, the cows aren’t attached to the bells when I’m playing them, and I was thinking ‘Am I getting trolled by the future King here?'”

Christine then burst out laughing as she declared how his majesty was just “straight to the point”.

He added: “He’s got a great sense of humour though. I think that’s evident!”
