One Coronation Street star looks almost unrecognisable as she landed a new job.
Christine Mackie is best known for playing the role of Dr Susan Graddas in the ITV soap, a role she’s had since 2014.
But it turns out she has a completely different acting job coming up as she’s landed the leading part in Lear at Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester.

It looks like 67-year-old Christine is temporarily ditching the GP surgery in Weatherfield to eye up the stage adaptation of Shakespeare’s infamous play, King Lear.
The soap star will play the part of Lear in the all-new adaptation of the Stuart-Era tragedy play, a far cry from her days on the cobbles.
Speaking ahead of her performance, she said: “I was astonished to be asked to play Lear but I’m so excited about it.”
When it was announced she will be playing the lead role, the company gave more details about the production in a post on social media as they announced the rest of the cast.
The post read: “We love a good cast announcement! Meet the cast of @her_productions19’s all female & non-binary Lear, coming to the Cockpit next month.”
Her Productions is a female-led theatre company in Manchester, UK where according to their instagram, they produce shows with new scripts, female playwrights and they also work around “Unseemly Shakespeare.”
In recent scenes, viewers of the Salford-based soap saw Roy Cropper attend an appointment with Dr Gaddas as the character complained about chest pains.
This comes after her co-star Coronation Street star Jane Hazelgrove previously opened up on her struggles with grief after she tragically lost her father.
The 54-year-old, who is best known for playing Bernie Winter in the ITV soap, has been left emotional as she films the recent terminal illness storyline with her co-star Peter Ash.
Talking about the story and her recent loss, Jane told Inside Soap: “I was very upset [when I found out about the storyline] as I adore Peter Ash [who plays Paul Foreman] so I was gutted as this meant he would be going.”
“My Corrie family are a tight unit. I’m so lucky to work with them all.
“I lost my dad recently, so I know what this kind of grief is like. It has been very emotional,” she explained.
