The Cobbles have seen their fair few scandals over the years, particularly when it has come to the bedroom.

From Roy and Tracy in the noughties to Adi and Courtney, we are taking a look back at some of the Salford-based soap’s biggest racy scandals.

Tracy and Roy

No true fan of Coronation Street could forget the joke that went too far in 2003.

An evil Tracy Barlow shared a 1p bet with Bev Unwin that should bed Roy and in her usual conniving way when she spiked Roy’s drink.

This happened when she tried to flirt with him in the Rovers.

After the wedding of Peter Barlow to Shelly, Roy had no recollection of the night after Tracy brought the Cafe owner back to her room.

Although he only slept in her room, he fully believed that he did the deed with the Barlow villain and he subsequently became depressed as he was riddled with guilt.

However, the residents on the street took Roy’s side as they accused Tracy of taking advantage of him, which caused Ken and Deirdre to throw her out of the house.

Although Hayley believed in their marriage and stood by him, things only got worse as Tracy claimed she was pregnant with Roy’s baby and the pair subsequently tied the knot.

In the end, it was revealed the baby was not Roy’s and Tracy had a one-night stand with Steve McDonald, and their union was then annulled.

Lauren and Roy

Despite a nervous disposition, poor Roy Cropper has faced a fair share of sex scandals over the years, but new episodes have shown that there’s more from the writers’ room.

Shona Platt (played by Julia Goulding) managed to secure a job for Lauren Bolton (played by Cait Fitton) behind the counter at Roy’s Rolls.

Although she had a rough start, she was delighted to tell her ex-boyfriend Max that her skills were improving at the cafe.

He’s happy in his relationship with Sabrina Adetiba, however, she still makes a play as she tries to kiss him after she misread the mixed signals.

She storms out of the house and headed straight for the cafe to resign from her job as she felt she made a fool of herself.

However, Roy got more than he bargained for after she offered to sleep with him in gratitude as he offered her food and put her up for the night.

She later disappears the next day leaving Shona and Roy worried for her safety.

Jamie and Frankie

Actress Jenny Platt joined the cast of Coronation Street in 2004 where she played Violet Wilson.

At first, she began to date bad boy Jamie Baldwin (played by Rupert Hill) and their characters soon moved in together.

However, she soon questions his sexuality after he started to spend more time with Sean Tully than with her, and she worried that he was interested in her gay friend.

Although she asks Sean to find out if Jamie is gay, she then discovers that he’s instead having an affair with his stepmother Frankie (played by Debra Stephenson).

She’s then left horrified after discovering that she is pregnant with his baby and has him confess the truth to her about his affair.

After the scandal, the pair reunite and Violet welcomed her newborn son Dylan in 2008, although it was Sean’s baby.

The pair then absconded from Weatherfield despite Sean’s best attempts to stop them after he bonded with the baby.

Adi and Courtney

It’s become clear in recent episodes that Amy Barlow (played by Elle Mulvaney) has started to develop feelings for Adi Alahan (played by Adam Hussain).

However, the arrival of married woman Courtney Vance (played by former Celebrity Big Brother star Stephanie Davis) changed everything.

She is married to a colleague of Dev (played by Jimmi Harkishin) who is named Darren, who regularly plays golf with the aspiring businessman.

They are under the impression that Adi is Darren’s personal assistant, but they are unaware that he’s actually assisting Courtney in other areas.

After having sex multiple times, they are caught in the act by Amy after she let herself into No.7 to pick up some paperwork for Dev.

She found a strange bottle of prosecco on the dining table before Courtney came running down in a robe and Adi looked shocked as he appeared half-naked.
