Emmerdale's Jamie Tate return 'sealed' as ITV soap star teases new Home Farm owner

It looks like Emmerdale fans could be seeing Jamie Tate back on their TV screens a lot sooner than expected, as one ITV soap star has teased his Home Farm takeover.

Jamie, played by Alexander Lincoln, was last seen on screen in 2021 after faking his own death in a car crash. With his mum Kim convinced he’d passed away, Jamie secretly went to live with daughter Millie and her gran.

Gabby and Kim later found out the truth about Jamie’s survival when Andrea Tate’s mother Hazel claimed he had pushed her down the stairs before disappearing again.

But now he could soon be back and ready to steal Home Farm from under Kim’s nose.

Kim is currently training her successor, and Gabby is adamant that the position should be hers after Dawn quit to look after the kids.

Speaking to Daily Star and other press, Gabby Thomas actress Rosie Bentham said: “I think Jamie returning would be chaos. There’s a lot of things unsolved from when he was here.

“A lot of hurt would come back for Gabby, because obviously he left when she thought they were getting married, and he was playing her. Yeah – I think it would cause a lot of chaos.”

But she continued: “With Kim as well, it would certainly rock the boat with Home Farm. Whose hands Home Farm would be left in after that, I don’t know. But Gabby’s hoping that it’s hers! So we’ll see what happens.”

However, Lewis Cope who plays nanny Nicky – Gabby’s new love interest – playfully fumed: “He’s not allowed to come back!”

Meanwhile, producer Jane Hudson said she can’t confirm if any cast members will return this year – but said she thought of one twist that viewers would “love”.

“I can’t tell you, because I’m still checking,” she confessed. “We’ll have to wait and see.”

It comes after Jamie star Alexander was praised by fans for his brave coming out post.

After remaining tight-lipped about his personal life, Alexander made a candid confession about his sexuality after bagging himself a role in LGBTQ+ film In From the Side, in which he plays a gay rugby player called Mark.

In response to criticism from one fan who said: “I loved the movie and its actors are still very handsome but I still think that the actors are posing as gay but they are not. Is it my doubt?”

But Alexander was quick to slam the rumours about his sexuality, responding: “Thanks so much, really appreciate it!!! And no, I’m not straight.”
