This prompted his adoring supporters to jump into the comment section and wish him their best.

A fan named, Alison, said: “Have a fab time!”

While Victoria, who’s enjoyed a trip there herself, exclaimed: “Lovely place, I absolutely LOVE Italy!”

A blown away Donna beamed: “How amazing! Your pics look beautiful”, and Angie added: “Some stunning photos!”

And with nearly three decades worth of experience, he remains at the centre of the programme’s core storylines, with his character recently having to recover from a stroke.

Mark Charnock has delivered some powerful performances

Fans of the show praised his candid delivery, with many complimenting his ability to make the story relatable for those going through the same thing.

The writers aimed to show all the hurdles that coincide with recovery.

Marlon experienced surgery, aphasia, difficulty with his talking, worsened mobility and even the need to relearn simple processes of tasks as mundane as swallowing his food.

This was used to paint a picture that the road to recovery is anything but simple. In reality, it has more than its fair share of setbacks.
