On Tuesday, the man who plays the son of Albert and Delilah Dingle, took to social media to upload some pictures of what he’s been getting up to on his travels, captioning the images: “Bologna/Parma photo dump. Amazing food, people, places. Bologna now, hands down my favourite Italian city.”
This prompted his adoring supporters to jump into the comment section and wish him their best.
A fan named, Alison, said: “Have a fab time!”
While Victoria, who’s enjoyed a trip there herself, exclaimed: “Lovely place, I absolutely LOVE Italy!”
A blown away Donna beamed: “How amazing! Your pics look beautiful”, and Angie added: “Some stunning photos!”
And with nearly three decades worth of experience, he remains at the centre of the programme’s core storylines, with his character recently having to recover from a stroke.
Fans of the show praised his candid delivery, with many complimenting his ability to make the story relatable for those going through the same thing.
The writers aimed to show all the hurdles that coincide with recovery.
Marlon experienced surgery, aphasia, difficulty with his talking, worsened mobility and even the need to relearn simple processes of tasks as mundane as swallowing his food.
This was used to paint a picture that the road to recovery is anything but simple. In reality, it has more than its fair share of setbacks.
In addition, audiences were blown away by his awe-inspiring performance in a storyline that saw him support his good pal, Paddy, through a mental health emergency.
Speaking on the Storyline, producer, Laura Shaw, told Metro: “We’ve worked really closely with Samaritans every step of the way through this story and their incredible support and insight has helped us to shape Paddy’s journey into a true reflection of what thousands of men sadly go through every year.”
