Hollyoaks icon set for ‘huge return’ to Channel 4 soap after character’s grisly death

Gary Lucy is making an epic comeback to Hollyoaks one year after his character was dramatically killed off the Channel 4 soap.

It is understood that the 41-year-old actor is back on set shooting some top-secret scenes where he will reprise his legendary role as Luke Morgan which is set to air later this summer.

Loyal fans will remember the character met a gruesome end when he fell off a cliff last May, but that hasn’t stopped producers from finding a way to write him back into the script.

According to The Sun, the fan-favourite character is set to appear in a number of flashback scenes with his onscreen girlfriend Cindy.

An insider told the publication: “The storyline is being kept hush hush but the character of Luke isn’t actually rising from the dead, even though stranger things have happened in Hollyoaks.

“Luke will re-appear in a series of flashback or dream sequences that form part of a storyline with his girlfriend Cindy (played by Stephanie Waring).”

They continued: “Fans will recall Cindy continued to have visions of Luke for several weeks after he died and now she is set to be ‘visited’ by him once more.

“Bosses were thrilled to find a way to get Gary back briefly to shoot some fresh scenes and they’re confident viewers will love seeing him back on their screens.”

Daily Star has reached out to a Hollyoaks spokesperson for a comment.

The news of his return – which are set to air in six weeks time – has sent fans wild online, with many already predicting what his upcoming storyline could be about.

It comes as the doting dad prepares to welcome his fifth child with former Love Island star Laura Anderson later this year.

The pair first met while they were filming Celebs Go Dating but after five months of dating the pair went their separate ways.
