Sophie Dillman and Paddy O’Connor’s characters have become one of Home and Away’s favourite television couples.
The two Aussie stars play Ziggy Astoni and Dean Thompson on the iconic Aussie soap – and their on-screen romance has spilled off-screen too.
The loved-up pair first knew each other as teenage pals growing up Queensland, even attending the same acting school.

But it wasn’t until they set foot in Summer Bay back in 2019 that they reconnected their relationship and hit things off.
Fast forward to now, and the two are still going strong – with Sophie and Paddy even hinting at taking the next step in their relationship.
From eloping to Vegas and hiding a ring finger, Daily Star has taken a look at the engagement rumours surrounding Sophie and Paddy.
Sophie ‘hiding her ring finger’
In late last year, rumours started to circulate online that Sophie and Paddy had become engaged after eagle-eyed fans noticed something about one of her pictures.
According to Yahoo, many claimed that Sophie was hiding her left ring hand in photos.
That, combined with their romantic trip to Greece in the summer, had fans thinking the pair had gotten engaged.
But Sophie was keen to set the record straight, revealing to TV Week: “Oh I know! There are so many comments on our photos that suggest I was hiding my left hand everywhere.
“Even people at work thought we were engaged. But I promise, the hand is bare and there is no engagement! Let’s put this rumour to bed. Please.”
Planning to ‘elope’
The couple recently fuelled more speculation that the two are engaged, after they hinted wedding bells could soon be ringing.
But it appears that Sophie and Paddy can’t seem to agree on what their wedding should look like.
So much so that Sophie suggested the two could “elope in Vegas.”
“I’ve recently had a few girlfriends wed and seeing them go through all the stress of planning big days…maybe we’ll just elope in Vegas!” she told New Idea.
“The full Las Vegas Elvis drive-through wedding experience!”
But Paddy said he was worried about the repercussions they would face if they did elope.
“I don’t think our families would ever forgive us,” he said.
Starting a family
Back in early 2021, the couple took their relationship to the next level by getting puppy.
Speaking to New Idea, Paddy revealed how welcoming their dog, Winnie into their lives felt like a “trial run” for starting a family as well.
“He’s just the absolute best little dude and it was the first time I’ve had someone totally relying on me, so it definitely helped me know that starting our own family is the direction we want to move to,” he says.
