Love Island has dropped its new trailer for the upcoming Winter seires.

During Sunday’s (January 1) broadcast of the James Bond film No Time To Die, ITV viewers will see the full promotional trailer ahead of the upcoming ninth series in South Africa.

The trailer features brand new host Maya Jama on a velvet bejewelled bucking bronco as she tells viewers: “It’s time to grab love by the horns, I am ready, are you?”

It comes after show bosses has announced a major change to the upcoming series of the hit ITV show after growing concerns over the contestants’ wellbeing.

Maya Jama will officially take over as Love Island host this month as the ITV2 dating show returns

The singletons will be instructed to disable their social media accounts during their time on the show to protect both them and their families, telly bosses have announced.

Normally, friends or family of contestants take over their social media pages to encourage fans to vote for them and keep them up-to-date.

The broadcaster will now ask islanders to make their accounts “dormant” while they are in the villa so nothing can be published on their behalf and they avoid “the adverse effects of social media”.

The move comes after thousands of complaints were made to Ofcom about the year’s summer series.

Following backlash from viewers over claims of bullying towards Tasha Ghouri last year, contestants will also receive “guidance and training” around “mutually respectful behaviour in relationships”.

Love Island bosses have been introducing changes year on year to ensure islanders are protected, including a member of the welfare team keeping in regular contact.

Contestant are offered therapy and social media training after leaving the villa and will now also be offered resource links to read before meeting the other contestants

The resources should help them “identify negative behaviours in relationships” and “understand the behaviour patterns associated with controlling and coercive behaviour”.

This comes after the series received thousands of Ofcom complaints for showcasing toxic behaviour and alleged misogynistic and bullying behaviour.

Love Island returns this January on ITV2 and ITVX
