Love Island’s Lana Jenkins is going to give romance another try as she heads into the famous villa.
The beauty is one of the 10 people joining the ITV2 dating show as she hopes to make her way into the final with the man of her dreams – but it wasn’t always her intention.
Speaking to Daily Star and other press ahead of heading into the villa, Lana explained that she was approached for the ninth series after nearly two-and-a-half years being single.

She explained: “I was approached for the show, I don’t think I really thought about doing it prior to that. I was kind of just working and didn’t really have it in my head.

“When it came about I just thought, ‘You know what? This is an opportunity that not many people get and I’m single’.”
Lana, 25, added that she’s “still young” so decided to go for it when the exciting opportunity came up.
She added: “I approached it to my mum and she was amazing. She was like, ‘Go for it!’

Lana explained that she spoke about the pros and cons about going on the show but the pros were “endless” and ultimately she said that “everyone was on board”.
However, Lana did keep her decision to go on the show to herself, with the beauty explaining that hardly any of her pals know – and especially not her exes.
Lana, who previously dated Hollyoaks star Owen Warner, said that she expects her exes to be shocked that she’s going on the show.

She said: “I think everyone will be shocked that I’ve not told. If any of my exes went on I’d be shocked. So I think it would work the other way around.
“I think it’s not a normal thing is it? It’s a strange concept but it’ll be fun.”
The celebrity makeup artist has many pals in the industry after working on multiple shows – but she’s swapping her brushes for bikinis as she has a winter holiday of love.
Love Island returns on Monday, January 16 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
