Matthew Perry admitted that he wanted to settle down and start a family a year before his tragic death.
On the prospect of being a parent, Matthew told People: “I think I’d be great. I really do. I grew up with a lot of little kids around me and that’s probably why, but I can’t wait.”

During one of his last interviews before his untimely passing, the Friends star opened up about his wishes to find a partner and have children with the publication. The 54-year-old, who tragically died at his home in Los Angeles on 28 October, never married and a year before his death Perry discussed his future plans in the interview.
He also opened up about his past relationships and admitted that they would end because he was “afraid”. Matthew said: “That is what I manifest, something that’s wrong with them, and then I break up with them. But there can’t be something wrong with everyone. I’m the common denominator. I left first because I thought they were going to annihilate me.”
Perry went on to say that he had overcome the “tremendous amount of fear” and spoke about his potential future love. The actor continued: “The next person I really take seriously is somebody that I’m going to be in love with and not be scared by the things that used to scare me.”
Sadly, Perry died just a year later. The death was confirmed by Capt. Scot Williams of the Los Angeles Police Department’s robbery-homicide division and said the cause was not likely to be determined for a while, but confirmed there was no reason to suggest foul play.
Matthew was found unresponsive in a hot tube at his home in L.A. at around 4pm on 28 October 2023. Sources have said that no drugs were found that the scene but The Times were told that prescription medications were recovered at his home.
His death came as a shock to many as it was publicly known that after many years struggling with drug and alcohol issues, Perry was back on track. Friends creator Marta Kauffman recently revealed that during her last conversation with the star just two weeks before his passing, Perry “was in a really good place”.
