Prince Harry claims royals want to keep him and Meghan Markle as 'the villains'

Prince Harry is to give a tell-all interview ahead of the release of his upcoming memoir, Spare.

The Duke of Sussex hasn’t shied away when it comes to discussing his life within “The Institution” since he made the move to live in California with his wife Meghan Markle.

Both Harry and Meghan left the world stunned when they announced in January 2020 that they would be stepping down as senior working royals in order to live a financially independent lifestyle.

Since then, the Sussexes have dropped a string of bombshells with a variety of interviews, including a chat with Oprah Winfrey and their own Netflix show.

Now, Harry, 38, is preparing to share his side of the story in an ITV special where he will be interviewed by veteran broadcaster Tom Bradby, who Harry has known for over 20 years.

In a dramatic teaser, the former military serviceman says: “They feel as though it’s better to keep us somehow as the villains.”

The dad-of-two goes on to add: “They’ve shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile,” before adding: “I would like to get my Father back, I would like to have my brother back.”

“It never needed to be this way, the leaking, the planting,” Harry said, before going on to say that he wanted a “family not an institution”.

In the dramatic ITV interview, Harry will share previously unheard details about the death of his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Harry and Meghan have continually claimed that members of the family and Royal Household had leaked stories about them in order to “cover-up” for his relatives.

Harry: The Interview airs on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on January 8
