The dancer provided the update, posting a picture of herself seated in her hospital bed.
In the photo, she was wearing grey pyjamas and a black cap, discussing her experience of losing hair as a result of her ongoing chemotherapy treatment.
She wrote in the caption: “And I’m going home to my own bed!
“Thanks again to the marvellous NHS!
“Got some blood clots but I’m feeling good other than a sore and swollen arm.
“Another hurdle along this journey. But again forever grateful to the NHS and my heroes around me.
“Can’t wait to get into my own bed since Monday though.”
Last weekend (18 August), Amy shared her emotional distress following the loss of her hair, a consequence of the rigorous chemotherapy she is undergoing as part of her effort to combat the illness.
In an Instagram story, the Strictly star thanked her fans for all the “lovely messages” she had received before announcing some news of her “cycle 2” chemotherapy treatment.
“Wanted to be open and honest with you all from start,” Amy wrote.
She continued: “So this cycle, I started feeling sick as soon as the second lot of ‘red devil’ was going in.
“Got home very tired and started being sick (even with all the anti-sickness) by Friday afternoon the sickness stopped and just waves of nausea.
“Still taking anti-sickness now. Hardly any sleep due to steroids and the insomnia they bring with them.
“Didn’t have any last cycle but some lovely mouth ulcer friends this time round.
“But I’ve managed some walks, lovely homemade soups and smoothies and feeling and feeling even better today! The little wins.”
