Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield both left This Morning within mere months of each other after years of working on the show together.
While This Morning bosses were slowly looking for Holly’s co-host replacement and trying out new presenters, their plans were thrown off when Holly also quit the show. Now as bosses work on replacing Holly, they’re making sure it’s the right fit.
It’s reported that they’re planning to test out a number of potential hosts, with various people invited to host the show in the next few weeks. And Holly’s replacement is currently their primary focus.

According to Daily Mail, there will be a number of women appearing on the show in the coming weeks. Some will have hosted the show before, and for some it’ll be their first time.
The source said: “There is a great existing pool of presenters both male and female who have featured before but bosses will also be looking outside of the show to try potential new faces out.” They will be “testing chemistry” to see if a new pairing can make hosting the show “look easy”.
It’s reported that they’ve been “inundated” with suggestions for the next hosting duo, but they’re working on getting it right. Two stars who are on the list to replace Holly are reported to be Kate Garraway and Davina McCall.
Ben Shephard had impressed bosses with his chemistry with Holly prior to her decision to leave the show. While the new hosting duo is yet to be confirmed, it’s reported that ITV are still happy with Ben taking over from Phil.
While Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond are popular presenters on the show, it’s claimed that they’re not frontrunners to be a main anchor. Holly confirmed she would be leaving This Morning after she found out there was a plot to kidnap her.
She told her followers on October 10 that she wouldn’t be returning in a statement on Instagram. Holly said her exit was a “difficult goodbye”, adding that she would “forever be proud” of what they’ve done.
Holly finished the statement by telling her fans she would “miss them all”. It’s not currently known if she will be returning to Dancing on Ice in January.
