A couple who appeared on Bargain Hunt were ecstatic to see an item they spotted brought in a sensational profit.
The BBC antiques competition returned to our screens once again on Wednesday (March 20), with another two sets of couple duelling it out to see who was the better antiques expert. The pairs were made up of Nathalie and Karl on the reds, whilst Adam and Jemma made up the blue team.
As per the rules of the game, both teams were sent out to find a fashion accessory that could rake in the cash when sold at an auction. Both teams initially struggled to find the perfect item, but both did end up finding something that fit the brief offered by the hosts.

On top of this, the blue team were told they needed to find an item which had a Chinese theme, in a separate challenge. But with both teams being able to find their specific items within just 20 minutes, it allowed both the reds and the blues some 40 minutes to peruse boot sales to see what they could pick up and land a profit with.
Antiques expert and regular on the show Raj Bisram, 68, was on hand to help the teams where he could and was impressed with their ability to spot a good deal. Commending the reds, he gushed: “This is probably one of the easiest teams I’ve ever had.
“Twenty minutes down, two items,” he continued. “It’s a walk in the park – what else can I say?”
The red team had already bagged a Swedish vase for £15, but it was clear the pair had their eyes set on something a lot bigger for their next big buy. Eventually, the pair cashed in a whopping £130 on a 1970s gentleman’s watch from vintage watchmaker Omega.
To finish their spending spree off, the red team bought a Clarice Cliff mustard pot for £20, although the lid was still missing from the pot itself. This paled in comparison to the blues, who splashed out £80 on an old periscope used by the military.
But for the red team, the watch was the clear favourite item, with auctioneer Tim describing the timepiece as being from “the height of fashion”. And it seems that the crowd at the auction also believed the same thing, as the pair were able to double their winnings, cashing in £130 in profit.
Host Eric was left astounded at the amount of money made by the watch, quipping: “You doubled your money. Bought for £130, sold for £260; good stuff, eh?”
After raking in the profit, antiques expert Raj revealed the pair’s Bonus Buy – a set of bowls that brought in a sweet £16 worth of wonga. In total, the reds were able to rack up some £165 of profit by the end of the show.
Bargain Hunt airs every weekday at 12:15pm on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.
