Emmerdale fans have been glued to their screens over the past week after Chas Dingle was diagnosed with breast cancer.
ITV viewers watched the beloved barmaid, played by Lucy Pargeter, undergo genetic testing for breast cancer following the death of her mother Faith Dingle in October 2022. After running several tests, doctors diagnosed her with the heart-breaking condition.
During the consultation, they told her that her condition is currently at stage one and is not necessarily genetically linked. However, they type of cancer she has is more aggressive with a faster growth.

It also has a higher risk of metastasis – something that happened to her mother when she was diagnosed with the terminal condition. The emotional storyline comes after the soap star, 46, opened up about how she had her breast implants removed after suffering with breathing problems.
Speaking to The Sun in 2019, the brunette beauty revealed how her cosmetically enhanced DD boobs caused her to have numerous health issues until she had them removed after 11 years. She even described her assets as “toxic bags” and admitted she “couldn’t wait” to get them taken out.
The mum-of-three told the publication: “They are out. I’m as flat as a pancake, I look awful but feel good. When I woke up in recovery, the first thing I did was panic because I could breathe – I could take in a massive breath.
“I thought they were trying to give me too much oxygen – I panicked. I forgot what it was like to have a full lung of air. I mean, it’s amazing – I can breathe.” The star went on to feature in a Dispatches documentary titled Britain’s Breast Implant Scandal on Channel 4 which investigated into the range of conditions women suffer with following their breast enhancements.
In the programme, she shared a before and after video diary throughout the journey. In the documentary, she excitedly told viewers in the lead up to her surgery: “Four days until I get these toxic bags out of my body. This current set have been in for just over 11 years.”
One week after she went under the knife, Lucy explained that the surgery went “absolutely fine” but described her implants as “quite deformed” and “encapsulated”. The actor went on to say that she feels things will be “much better” moving forward after she attributed joint pain, rashes on her chest, anxiety and pain in her chest and armpits to her boosted cup size.
