Emmerdale’s baddie Tom King, portrayed by James Chase, was arrested in the midst of a probe into his domestic abuse against Belle Dingle, played by Eden Taylor-Draper.
However, the local vet was once again let go by the police as their investigation carried on. Now soap enthusiasts reckon Nicola King, played by Nicola Wheeler, is gearing up to bring Tom down in a fresh revenge scheme.
Tom’s arrest followed Nicola taking her stepson Carl, played by Charlie Munro Joyce, to the station to report him for lying about the missing tablet, which contains key evidence showing Belle was being mistreated by Tom.
Carl also admitted that his cousin Tom had intimidated him over the tablet before destroying it to hide his actions. In the latest visit to the village (October 31), DS Foy, played by Robert Cavanah, questioned Tom about his previous statements and presented proof that Tom had bought several cameras used to snoop on Belle in her own home as his controlling behaviour escalated.
DS Foy, who trusts Belle, also confirmed that despite receiving mental health treatment, Belle was in her right mind when she reported Tom for domestic abuse.
A potential game-changer was unveiled when Foy confirmed that the police investigators had finally located Tom’s smashed tablet, which would be thoroughly inspected by an IT team to see if any data could be retrieved. As the police continued their investigations, Tom returned home to find a stern-faced Nicola waiting for him, fully aware of Tom’s guilt in tormenting Belle, reports Leeds Live.
In another twist, mystery vandals targeted Tom’s car. Nicola called the whole Tom saga “crazy” before vowing to prove Tom is guilty.
Emmerdale buffs are now convinced Nicola’s on a warpath against Tom and is the person who smashed his car window, with more plots on the horizon.
Popping over to X, one fan speculated: “I reckon it was Nicola that smashed Tom’s car window! @emmerdale #Emmerdale.”
Another supporter egged her on: “Go on Nicola, bring him down! @emmerdale #emmerdale”, while another chimed in with: “Tom gets stabbed next week and I get the feeling it’s gonna be Nicola #Emmerdale.”
One telly addict confessed: “I didn’t think that by the tail end of the Belle abuse storyline, we’d be rooting for Nicola #Emmerdale”. Another enthusiast expressed their excitement at the storyline, writing: “I’m so thrilled Nicola sees Tom for the monster he is – it never made sense to me that she took his side in the first place tbh #Emmerdale”.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
