Some of Liam Payne’s final words before his tragic death include a heartbreaking last wish.

The One Direction superstar, who tragically passed away after falling from the third floor of his hotel in Buenos Aires at the young age of 31, expressed a deep affection for the city he was visiting.

In Liam’s last hours, poignant details have come to light, including an emotional conversation with a fan. Just over an hour before his untimely death, he confessed his desire to buy a house there.

Daiana Gauna, the fan who encountered her hero, shared her tearful story with TN Central, an Argentine TV show, last Wednesday around 3pm. Against the swirl of social media speculation about his condition, she said: “Liam looked in good shape, not drunk or aggressive like they’ve been saying on social media. He approached us and spent quite a bit of time talking to us and telling us about his experiences in Buenos Aires, the places he’d been to and where he wanted to go.

“He said he loved the city and would like to buy a home here, that he loved the countryside around Buenos Aires.”

She continued, reflecting on their interaction: “Liam also told us during the conversation that he’d been to the countryside with his girlfriend, that on Sunday morning about 7am they’d gone out running together. He told us he was really enjoying Buenos Aires.”

Daiana, who was still at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel when she “began to see strange movements and a police patrol car and fire engine turned up”, confessed her shock upon discovering that the father-of-one had been found dead. She said: “I never thought it was Liam because I had seen him just over an hour earlier and he seemed okay.”.

Overwhelmed with emotion, she added: “Finding out someone is dead that you’ve just seen was really shocking. He was my idol. Liam spoke a lot about mental health and in his songs told us we are never alone. This is all very hard. As fans we are in a lot of pain.”

Prosecutors announced last week that they had found no evidence of third-party involvement in the incident leading to Liam’s death, but investigations continue, reports the Mirror.

Argentine media reports suggest that traces of cocaine were found in the star’s body by forensic experts. Infobae, a news portal, reported that materials extracted from the singer’s body during an autopsy after his death last Wednesday had “determined the presence of the class-A drug.”

ABC News alleges that the substances included “pink cocaine”, a cocktail of several drugs including MDMA, ketamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack.

Liam’s devastated father, Geoff, who jetted off to Argentina immediately following his son’s demise, has pledged to stay with him until he can be brought back to the UK. However, lead investigator into Liam’s death, Prosecutor Andrés Esteban Madrea, has cautioned Geoff that it could take up to 10 days for the post-mortem results to be finalised, delaying Liam’s return to the UK.
