Pete Wicks shocked Celeb SAS co-star on show – and fans will be surprised why

Pete Wicks has shocked one of his co-stars with his behaviour on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Documentary maker Cherry Healey, 43, spoke to Daily Star about her time on the Channel 4 show and how she found her co-stars. Other than Pete, Cherry was starring on the show alongside the likes of Anthony Ogogo, Bianca Gascoigne, Marnie Simpson, Bobby Norris, amongst others.

But she said the former The Only Way Is Essex star and podcast host, 36, surprised her the most, as she soon found out how “layered” he was as a person. Cherry explained: “Pete Wicks surprised me the most, as his public persona is this bada** rude boy, who is dangerous, but he is such a nice man.

“He’s very caring, he’s very considerate. He thinks about other people. He’s quite self-sacrificing. He’s very thoughtful, he’s very layered. He’s just a lovely man. I was surprised at how layered, thoughtful, interesting and kind he was. He’s a good guy.”

She added: “I think there’s a lot of childhood stuff going on, which he opened up about on the show, so I don’t think I’m betraying his trust. There’s a lot going on inside him. We all choose our personas, but it doesn’t always reflect what’s really going on inside.”

This 2024 series was filmed in New Zealand, making it even tougher for the star-studded cast as the location boasted sub-zero temperatures. Talking about this year’s group of celebrity recruits, Chief Instructor, Billy said: “As our course progresses, the standards expected will never falter.

“From the very first second, the recruits will be expected to give 100%. Anyone not doing so will be gone before they have time to make their excuses. Our time is invaluable – we will not waste it on anyone not worthy.”

DS Chris added: “As a former Royal Marines mountain leader, I know firsthand what it takes to operate in a cold weather environment where temperatures plummet below zero in a flash. Even the most basic tasks drain every ounce of your energy, you cannot operate alone. Teamwork will be essential for survival.

The new series is set in New Zealand

“New Zealand is like Wales on steroids. It’s got it all, making this the most challenging course to date. It will truly test the celebrity’s determination to succeed.”

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins will air on Channel 4, every Sunday and Monday from 22 September at 9pm.
