Gogglebox star Shaun Ryder has stopped hell-raising after his gigs – and now chills watching TV.
The music icon would rather catch up on the news than neck pills and get drunk. He said: “As soon as I’m finished on stage, I am back in the hotel room watching the news.
“I still have a pint, but I’d look pretty ridiculous at 61 if I was running around like at 20-odd.” The Happy Mondays frontman still loves taking his music out to his fans.

Ryder, who kicks off a Mondays tour in Glasgow on March 14, says his new mindset has helped him to settle down. “I find it so easy. Maybe it’s, I’m not shoving loads of drug down my neck, but it’s just calming now, and I like it.”
He added: “I liked it back in the day when we was all mad and rock and roll. And I like it now. “
Meanwhile, I’m A Celeb star Shaun also revealed that he wouldn’t be giving up working anytime soon. The singer explained that he’s having to fund therapy for five of his six children, who have all been diagnosed with ADHD.
The iconic hitmaker who starred in I’m A Celeb this year, previously opened up that two of his daughters had the condition, but now Jael, Coco, Pearl, Lulu, Joseph, and Oliver have also been diagnosed. Leaving the chart-topper needing cash to help his brood.
Being a sufferer too after discovering it in his fifties, Shaun is more than happy to make sure his children receive the right care. Speaking about the financial strain, the chart-topper told The Sun: “I have six kids and five of them have it. That’s why I’m always working because I’ve got to pay for their f***ing therapy.”
The Gogglebox star didn’t realise that he had ADHD until he was 50-years-old. Looking back at his school years and knowing what he did about the condition, Shaun believes it’s probably what led him to drugs.
At the time of his diagnosis, he said: “Even though I wasn’t diagnosed until 50 odd years old when I was at school while I was in the class I would take things and understand it, by the time the lesson had ended and I walked out that door I couldn’t remember anything.
“I just didn’t retain the information. And also the ADHD, with me, led to promiscuous behaviour, drugs, trouble.”
