The Traitors star announces she’s pregnant with first child after fertility battle

One of the breakout stars of The Traitors UK has announced they are expecting their first baby with a sweet baby scan pic, after going through difficult fertility struggles

The Traitors star Charlotte Berman is expecting her first child.

The 34-year-old marketing manager shot to fame as a contestant on the BBC One hit earlier this year. Charlotte managed to trick her co-stars into thinking she was Welsh during her bid for the grand £94,000 cash prize.

She made it all the way to the final. But sadly, she got the boot from the Scottish castle after a controversial twist.

Charlotte has opened up about her struggles to get pregnant on the show – revealing that if she won, she would use the cash to fund IVF. And now the star has revealed her pregnancy news with an image of an ultrasound and showed off her bump.

She announced it on Instagram on New Year’s Eve in a round-up of 2025 highlights. In her touching post, Charlotte looked back at her experience on The Traitors and included sweet snaps of her Christmas with husband Alexander.

The caption read: “WELL. 2025 began with that Welsh accent. And the most insane experience on the Traitors. It’s been wild.”

She ended her post with: “And, it’s ending with the biggest adventure on the horizon… A little festive round-up and to share that we hope very much to meet a little one this spring…” She added, “Quietly excited, one day very much at a time.”

Her followers were delighted, swiftly flooding her post with congratulations. One penned: “Oh guys this is WONDERFUL!!!! Huge congratulations and hopefully see you in 2026 xx”.

Another wrote: “LOVED watching and your teammates on Traitors (including the Welsh accent). Huge congratulations on your news, best adventure ever! Happy new year to you and yours x”.

Charlotte first became known to telly viewers entering the show as a Faithful – but after the eighth episode was recruited as a Traitor. She made it to the final, but viewers at the time claimed a last-minute twist saw the star “robbed” of winning the show.

The twist saw fellow contestant, interior designer Frankie become the “Seer”, giving her the power to unveil any other player’s role. Chosing Charlotte, her closest ally, she was left gobsmacked to learn the truth.

Opening up on-air about her accent change, switching to a London accent, she said: “I’m from London where I am born and bred. I’ve been putting on a Welsh accent because my mum’s from Wales and it’s one of the most trustworthy accents so in a game where we need people to trust each other, I need an accent that people can trust.”

Charlotte, who married other half Alexander in 2022, revealed last January about her plans for fertility treatment, saying: “There are a few things; we’re looking at going through fertility treatment soon, so money towards that would be great.”

She added: “A safari holiday would be incredible because why not celebrate if I win! And we’ve recently moved so I would love to redecorate and bring all my saved inspo pictures to life.”
