Adam Peaty fuels family feud with cryptic New Year message after wedding snub

Adam Peaty appeared to double down on his family feud with a cryptic New Year post, just days after marrying Holly Ramsay amid mounting fallout over wedding snubs

Adam Peaty has shown no signs of mending fractured family ties as he welcomed the New Year with a pointed social media post that many saw as a clear message amid his ongoing feud.

The Olympic swimming champion, 31, shared a reflective update on New Year’s Eve, appearing content with how the past 12 months had unfolded, despite the turmoil surrounding his personal life. Posting a simple quote online, Adam wrote: “It’s the last day of 2025. Thank you Jesus for everything this year.”

The timing raised eyebrows, coming just days after he married Holly Ramsay, daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey. While the festive wedding marked a joyful milestone, it was also overshadowed by mounting family tensions that saw several of Adam’s relatives excluded from the big day.

Rather than extending an olive branch, Adam’s latest post suggested he remains at peace with the choices he’s made, even those that have caused lasting rifts within his family.

In the run-up to the wedding, it emerged that Adam had uninvited multiple family members, including his parents. Reports revealed the fallout began after his mum, Caroline, was not invited to Holly’s hen do, sparking a row that escalated rapidly. Adam later told his dad, Mark, he could attend the ceremony but would be required to sit at the back of the church, an offer Mark declined. Adam’s brothers, James and Richard, also stayed away.

Just days before the wedding, the situation worsened further. Adam’s great aunt Janet, 73, and uncle Eddie were reportedly removed from the guest list only four days before the ceremony. A source said: “They got an automated message basically saying they were off the guest list and to respect Adam and Holly’s decision. It was so impersonal, and just four days before the big day.”

Despite the upheaval, the ceremony went ahead, followed by a reception at Kin House in Wiltshire. During the celebrations, Gordon Ramsay delivered a speech that appeared to reference Adam’s absent family. He praised his wife Tana, saying she “will be a good mum to them both,” before adding: “Shame you don’t have the same.”

The comments reportedly left Caroline feeling “outraged and hurt,” with an insider claiming: “By him saying Tana will be a good mum to them both makes Caroline sound like a bad mum. It was a cruel dig at her.”

Still, Adam and Holly seemed keen to move forward, later being photographed leaving Gordon’s London home before jetting off on honeymoon. Adam also recently changed his name on social media to Adam Ramsay Peaty — a move criticised by his ex-girlfriend Eiri Munroe, who shares his five-year-old son George.

A friend of Eiri said: “It feels a bit rich to Eiri that Adam has been quick to change his name but didn’t allow her the same right for their son.”
