Sick DeathList 2026 released as Joe Biden, William Shatner and Dame Judi Dench added

A sick DeathList has released its 2026 edition where committee come up with a list of 50 key figures who they believe won’t make it to 2027.

Some names on the list have been on for many years, such as actor Dick Van Dyke (aged 101), director Mel Brooks (aged 100) and beloved broadcaster David Attenborough (aged 100).

However, 2026 has seen a whole host of notable figures added to the list for the very first time, including former US President Joe Biden, Star Trek legend William Shatner, actress Dame Judi Dench, James Bond star George Lazenby and legendary comedian Billy Connelly.

The list not only lists 50 names but ranks them in a morbid way of most likely closer to the bottom, which sees TV presenter Esther Rantzen overtake Dick Van Dyke at the number one spot. Disgraced TV presenter and sex offender Stuart Hall remains at number 50.

British actress Dame Judi Dench has also made the list for the first time

Former US President Joe Biden’s first appearance on the list is believed to be after the announcement that is receiving radiation therapy as part of his treatment for prostate cancer back in October.

The Biden office said at the time that “he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterised by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone”.

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.”

Star Trek icon William Shatner has also made his debut on the sick list

Shatner himself has had his health struggles when back in 2024 he faces a stage 4 melanoma diagnosis. Shatner underwent surgery to remove the lump is now in remission.

Last year, the sick annual ranking only predicted 11 out of 50 famous deaths, which is much better than their predications for 2024 which was six – their worst score for over 30 years.

Dick Van Dyke was number on on the DeathList last year

In 2025, the Death List predicted successfully deaths of Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson, Hollywood icon Gene Hackman, Irish singer Linda Nolan, legendary designer Giorgio Armani and Scottish comedian Stanley Baxter, among its notable names.

The current record for death predictions is from 2020 after 20 people on the list sadly passed away.
