Ulrika Jonsson claims ISIS bride Shamima Begum is like 'a domestic abuser'

Ulrika Jonsson has furiously hit out at ISIS bride Shamima Begum, after the 22-year-old appeared on Good Morning Britain earlier this week, claiming she is not a threat to the United Kingdom.

Shamima fled the UK when she was just 15 to join the terrorist organisation in Syria but has since claimed she regrets her decision.

During her first live interview, the east London born woman claimed that she would be able to help Boris Johnson and security experts “fight against terrorism”.

However, her comments appear to have angered former Gladiators presenter, Ulrika Jonsson who has hit out at the ISIS bride.

Writing in her column for The Sun, Ulrika, 54, said: “In yet another manipulative attempt to forge her road to freedom and in a dramatic change of image, she has not only adopted a western look to help normalise her for us but has made a direct appeal to the PM that she would be willing to help in the fight against terrorism.”

Ulrika went on to claim that Shamima has “betrayed” Britain by flying to Syria to join the terrorist group before adding that “some Human Rights lawyer” will fight the decision to strip Shamima of her British citizenship.

Recalling her interview on GMB, Ulrika continued: “And all the while I was watching and listening, the only parallel I could draw was with that of a domestic abuser who has beaten, injured and violated their victim and then without even drawing breath, offers to help clean and bandage the wounds and fractures.

“How, in so many cases of abuse and treachery, the perpetrator transforms themselves into the victim.”

Speaking to Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, Shamima made a string of claims regarding her decision to join ISIS, saying she was “doing the right thing” when she made the decision to leave Bethnal Green, east London and marry an ISIS terrorist in Syria.

“I didn’t know there was a war,” she said in a bold statement while discussing terrorist attacks carried out by the group.

When asked if she believes she had been groomed, Shamima said: “I think yes, I was groomed and taken advantage of and manipulated into coming.

“I thought it was an Islamic community that I was joining, I was being fed a lot of information on the internet by people in ISIS telling me I need to come because I can’t be a good Muslim in the UK.”

She claimed that she made a mistake as young people “don’t know what they want to do with their lives” before claiming she had no idea ISIS had been “trying to take over the world”.
