Laura Hamilton has broken her silence after her shock split from her husband Alex Goward, saying she has experienced times where she is “overwhelmed with sadness”.
The A Place In The Sun presenter, 39, confirmed in January that she and Alex had called time on their marriage after 10 years.
Opening up to Hello! magazine, she said the decision was mutual and that they were “now on different paths”.
“At the point it was announced, we’d already overcome a lot of difficult times,” Laura said.
“But I am lucky that we have the relationship and respect for each other that we have, and our children’s happiness will always be our priority.”

Laura – who shares two children with her ex – went on: “It was a chapter of my life that I am now closing, and I have so many happy memories. I am very much someone who believes in focusing on the future, not having regrets, and I want to be positive for my children.”
However, she admitted: “There have been times I have been so overwhelmed with sadness.”
The TV star had been with Alex for 13 years in total and said it felt “weird” to be single.
But she said the whole thing has not put her off falling in love again one day.

Laura and Alex tied the knot in 2012 and have two children together, son Rocco and daughter Tahlia.
Announcing the split last month, the presenter wrote on Instagram: “This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated.
“Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time.”
