Coronation Street's Hope 'to murder her sister Ruby' as fans spooked by sinister vow

Hope Stape made a horrifying confession during the latest instalment of Coronation Street which left several viewers at home terrified.

While talking to her neighbour Joseph Brown about potentially living in Portugal with his grandmother, Hope seemed to be in favour of the idea.

But while convincing her friend that he should depart from the cobbles, Hope told him that she would “kill her sister” if she was presented with the opportunity to also leave.

Seeing the youngster openly confess to murder, petrified viewers shared their thoughts online.

One social media user penned: “Did hope just say she would literally kill her own sister where is Fiz when she says these things… I mean knowing Hope she would kill her sister..”

Hope left fans in disbelief

Another said: “Keep away from Hope, Ruby.”

A third commented: “Scary thing is Hope actually would kill her sister.”

While a fourth shocked viewer wrote: “Hope, you’d kill your own sister for a packet of Wotsits never mind the chance to live in Portugal.”

With Hope already responsible for arson, could she be a murderer too?

Later on in the programme, things took an emotional turn when Joseph decided that he wanted to jet off to Portugal with gran, Linda.

Joseph almost tore his family apart as he opted to go to Portugal with his nan, Linda

Feeling upset, dad Chesney reluctantly agreed to let his son go as he believed that it would be a better life for him.

However, Chesney’s partner Gemma was left fuming by the abrupt decision and tried her best to convince Joseph to stay, while reminding him that he has school the following day.

But things became even more devastating for Chesney and Gemma when Hope revealed that Joseph informed her that he doesn’t actually want to go abroad but felt that he had to flee.

Chesney was left shocked when he found out his son felt like a burden

Rushing to the airport, Chesney tried to prohibit his son from leaving.

And luckily for Ches, he was able to sway Joseph’s decision in the nick of time.

Seeing the scene unfold, fans jumped back onto Twitter and shared their thoughts online.

One spectator commented: “Joseph being guilted into choosing to stay with Chesney.”

Meanwhile another said: “No pressure, Joseph. Poor kid.”

A third chimed: “Oh Joseph you’ve chosen a life of poverty!”
