Piers Morgan admitted that it’s “such a shame” Prince Harry has a rift with brother Prince William while insisting that Harry must be affected by re-joining his family for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral proceedings.
The TalkTV presenter appeared on his chat show where he discussed the highly publicised tension between the two brothers with Lord Richard Dannatt as well as the Queen’s funeral which took place today (Sept 19).

Talking about the family dynamic in more detail, Piers said Harry might reconsider the choices that he made to leave the Royal family and whether “attacking” the family in the press would have been the right thing to do.
Talking openly he said: “It’s such a shame with what’s going on there because there is clearly a rift with the two brothers.
There is a rift between King Charles and his son Harry and at the moment it does seem quite deep rooted.
“But you do get a sense that Harry having been immersed back into his former life in the last ten days, it would take a hear of stone which I don’t think he has to not be personally affected by it in a way that may make you think ‘am I going the right way with my new life?’
“You know constantly attacking the family, the monarchy and so on, is this really helping anybody?”
Responding to Piers, Lord Dannatt said: “Well I think the events over the last few days must have had a significant effect on Prince Harry and his wife Meghan.
“I don’t know what their private thought processes are or what their personal ambitions are but what I do know absolutely is that Harry loves this country.
“He loved the armed forces. His time in the army, his two deployments to Afghanistan, I was quite involved in both of those but it was absolutely informative in his life.
“I wish him all the best and I wish Meghan all the best but frankly from my point of view, I think from the British armed forces point of view, we miss Harry. We love Harry.
“I don’t know how the future is going to work out but I hope he has role to play in this country in the future. “
Hearing Lord Dannatt’s words, Piers later admitted to feeling moved by his remarks.
