Eurovision winner Cheryl Baker has revealed the real reason Bucks Fizz were forced to change their name ahead of their 40th anniversary.
The blonde bombshell, 68, made a name for herself when her and her bandmates soared to stardom after they won the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1981.
Since then, the singer has gone on to compete on Dancing on Ice back in 2018 as well as continue to perform with the group for numerous gigs up and down the country.

As the Making Your Mind Up singer prepares to celebrate the band’s 40th anniversary in the charts, the mum-of-two lifted the lid on why they quartet were forced to rename the group back in 2015.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Cheryl that after bandmember Bobby G left the group back in 1985, the group were forced to rebrand in order to avoid a legal dispute over the trademark.
She explained: “We don’t own the trademark, the woman who married Bobby G – he isn’t with us – his wife registered the name Bucks Fizz and so we’re not allowed to use it which is just ridiculous but there you go. You’ve got to laugh.
“And she’s still reminding everyone that she can call herself Bucks Fizz but we can’t,” she added.
Bobby G left the group back in 1985 before briefly re-joining back in 2004 before leaving again to carve out his own musical career solo.
And it appears as though tensions are still high between the former bandmate and the rest of the group.
Cheryl fumed: “It’s absolutely ridiculous and they hardly ever work, you know a couple of gigs a year, it’s ridiculous.
“But also, I think it’s jealousy as well, but there you go.”
It comes after the group announced they would be hosting a belated 40th anniversary special gig at London’s Indigo in March 2023 to mark the anniversary of their Eurovision victory.
The show will feature cuts spanning the trio’s career alongside more recent material including their new album Everything Under The Sun.
It is understood that Bobby declined to take part in the performance with his estranged bandmates following their decades of public fallouts.

The group explained in a post to their fanbase back in 2021: “We know many of you are curious to see former members taking part and there will of course be a nod to Bobby Gee.
“However, despite being asked to contribute to the event he declined and we must respect that he has chosen to commemorate the occasion in his own way.”
