Katy Perry once said she “found out the real truth” about her ex-husband Russell Brand – but claimed she was “keeping it locked in my safe for a rainy day.”
This week, Russell has been accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse after claims by four women.
Pop star Katie married comedian and actor Russell in October 2010 after a year of dating – but then divorced just 14 months later.

Brand has denied all the allegations against him in a YouTube video on Friday evening (September 15) before the allegations went public – slamming them as “aggressive attacks”.
He says there are “witnesses whose evidence directly contradicts the narratives” by The Sunday Times and Channel 4′ Dispatches making a “co-ordinated attack.
Former wife Katy, who is now engaged to British actor Orlando Bloom, has remained silent on the allegations so far.
Back in 2013, Katy spoke to Vogue, where she revealed she could not “necessarily disclose” the “truth” – and had it locked in a safe “for a rainy day.”
However, she did not reveal what the “truth” was.
“He’s a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him,” she said at the time.
“Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011.”
Katy added: “I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day. I let go and I was like: This isn’t because of me; this is beyond me. So I have moved on from that.”
Daily Star has contacted Katy’s representatives for comment.
The famous pair met in the summer of 2009 when they appeared in the Hollywood film Get Him to the Greek.
The couple began dating after they met again a few weeks later at the 2009 MTV VMAs, they got engaged three months later on December 31, 2009, while holidaying in India.
Then, 14 months after the couple were wed, Russell, who is 10 years her senior, announced in December 2011 that he and Katy were filing for divorce.
Back when the marriage broke down, Katy revealed her husband told her he was planning to divorce her via a text message.

Brand released a video statement on Friday (September 16) denying all of the allegations against him, saying his relationships were “absolutely, always consensual”.
He said: “Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.
“These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies, and as I’ve written about extensively in my books I was very, very promiscuous.
