EastEnders fans all say same thing as Bobby Brazier exits soap in emotional scenes

EastEnders viewers were left gutted after fan favorite character Freddie Slater bid farewell to the BBC One soap.

The character, played by Bobby Brazier, was arrested for murder and found himself vulnerable in a police station during Thursday’s episode (October 5). Fans will recall how Freddie beat Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) with an iron in defence of Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) after he walked in on Theo attempting to rape her.

With the help of Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) the trio then came up with a plan that involved making Freddie’s attack look more like self defence by planting a weapon on Theo’s body. After calling the ambulance, the cops swiftly arrived.

However, despite the attempts to make him look innocent Freddie was arrested for attempted murder. Fortunately for him, he was released on bail during Thursday’s episode (October 5).

After returning home, his nan Jean (Gillian Wright) suggested he should go and spend time with his mum Little Mo for a while. Although hesitant at first, Freddie agreed.

In emotional scenes at the end of the episode, he hugged his family and friends before jumping into a taxi to go see his mum. And it’s fair to say Bobby’s exit got plenty of viewers talking.

Fans watching the scenes were left emotional and rushed over to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their sadness and beg bosses to bring him back. One person said: “I’m missing Freddie already. He better be coming back.

Someone else agreed and wrote: “Hope Bobby Brazier will be back – he’s been amazing as Freddie.” A third quipped: “Gonna miss Freddie during his short stint away. He’s my favourite.”

Echoing their thoughts, another viewer gushed: “Such a big loss, please come back Freddie.” A fifth proclaimed: “I hope Freddy returns such a great character.”

Bobby confirmed he was leaving the soap in a recent interview. Fortunately for fans it’s only a brief break from EastEnders as he is strutting his stuff on Strictly Come Dancing at the moment.
