Former Miss Great Britain shared a stark warning to her followers following her news of a skin cancer diagnosis – and urged her fans to act as soon as possible, before it’s ‘too late’
Danielle Lloyd has sent a stark warning to her followers less than 24 hours after revealing she has been diagnosed with cancer.
The 41-year-old model and former Miss Great Britain winner took to her Instagram Stories on Friday (February 14) to share her devastating diagnosis with skin cancer. As she has always been open about her health issues, she has used this latest opportunity to warn her fans of the signs and urged all of her followers to get checked regularly.
Danielle also thanked everyone for their support, with thousands of well-wishes flooding in for the mum-of-five. On Saturday (February 15), the former Big Brother star shared another update on her social media.
The post, which was simply a blank screen with white text, read: “Just wanted to say thank you so much for all your messages of support and personal stories you have shared.
“I can’t reply to everyone of you, but I read all messages and want to thank you all. I’m also glad that my story has made some of you listen and take action on moles/skin problems that you have been worried about.”
Danielle added a desperate warning: “Please don’t wait till it’s too late! Don’t be scared just get it checkout however big or small if you see change make sure you go to your doctors. Love Dan.”
On Valentine’s Day, Danielle said in a video shared on her Instagram: “I don’t really know how to say this and I didn’t know whether to come on and say it but I feel like I have to raise awareness of this. Today I have been diagnosed with a form of skin cancer.”
Danielle broke down in tears as she continued: “Anyone who thinks they’ve got something funny on their body – please go to your doctor. You just never know.”
The Celebrity Big Brother star thanked her doctors and medical staff for looking after her and explained she was going to have an operation to check how serious the diagnosis was.
The mum-of-five added: “I’ve got to have an operation to see if it’s spread. Look after your skin, stay of sunbeds, wear factor 50 – you never know what’s going to happen.”
Danielle shares two children – Ronnie, six, and Autumn Rose, two, with husband Michael O’Neill. She also has three children – Archie, 13, George, 12, and Harry, 10 – with ex-husband Jamie O’Hara.
The model was crowned Miss England in 2004 and Miss Great Britain in 2006. She famously posed naked on the cover of Playboy magazine in 2006 and appeared in men’s magazines such as Zoo Weekly, Nuts and Loaded.
