Grand Desgins fans were raging over a quirky-looking red house in a stunning backdrop of Dorset that reminded them of an “office building in a business park”.
Houseowner Edward’s “Red House”, created by David Kohn Architects, is one of five properties shown on the Channel 4 show.
Presenter Kevin McCloud enlisted architect Damion Burrows to check out the extraordinary home in the middle of rural Dorset.

As Damion stood in front of the house, he quickly noticed the intricate brick work on the exterior wall.
“You’ve chosen every single brick arrangement that you can throw at the house,” he said, which Edward said it provided an “extra level of interest”.
The house has oversized chimneys, an exaggerated pitched roof and huge over-sailing eaves in a bright shade of green.
Edward explained that the bright shades help to “stand out from a distance”, adding: “It feels shocking to people, but if it just disappeared in the landscape, then I think it would be failing.”
He also mentioned that shortly after they moved in, two neighbours walking past his house and whispered: “It’s hard to imagine anything less appropriate for the site.”
Inside the house is one open-plan living space with no doors installed as designers used wall curves to create room partition in the house.
The stunning staircase has bendy curves with mind-boggling artwork on the carpet.
Viewers took to Twitter and shared their thoughts on the Red House.
“From the outside, it looks like an office building on a business park. Inside, okay that’s lovely,” one said.
A second commented: “Really does feel like Teletubbies will walk out of the door and want custard.”
A third referred the house as a “Noddy Town house on a mini golf course”.
“The green and red house is hideous! What a shame in such a beatiful house,” a fourth added while another said the neighbour’s comment to say “it was inappropriate” was not wrong.
The judges from the Royal Institute of British Architecture picked Edward’s house as the shortlist for “hard-to-build homes”.
“This house looks ordinary, but it’s actually exrtraordinary – the combination of the buidling material,” said Taro Tsuruta, chair of the panel.
