Sue Cleaver has revealed that she had to be written out of Coronation Street temporarily to appear on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
The Corrie Eileen Grimshaw star is one of the celebrities preparing to enter the jungle as the beloved ITV reality show prepares to launch on September November 6 at 9pm.
Speaking ahead of the show launch, Sue revealed that she has been written out of the soap while she flies to Australia, and that she confided in her co-stars Simon Gregson and Jennie McAlpine, who have both taken part in the series before.

“I have spoken to Jennie and Simon,” Sue said.
“They seemed to think I will have an absolute ball. They have told me I will love it and have a great time.
“It is very positive and I am going there feeling excited.”
However, she did add that she will miss Coronation Street while appearing on I’m A Celeb, but hopes to dispell one particular myth while she is in the jungle.
“I think people think I am like my soap character, Eileen, but I am very different,” said Sue.
Speaking about her role in the jungle, she did add though: “I will be more of a mum – that is where I will naturally fit.
Sue said: “I can cook and I am a good listener, so hopefully I will be a friendly ear for everyone.
The actress also revealed who would be her dream camper in the jungle, saying: “Good Morning Britain’s Richard Arnold. He is my TV husband and it would be lovely to have an ally in camp!”
There was one thing that Sue would not let slip however – what her biggest phobias were, as the star prepares to take on some huge challenges in the jungle.
Bursting into laughter, the actress said: “Don’t be ridiculous, of course I have not admitted what my phobias are.
“I am not going to mention any of the trials that would “worry me either!
She added: “Don’t be ridiculous! I am not going to admit to what I fear most!”
