Kerry Katona shares brutal dig as she brands herself 'aging ex popstar' after A&E visit

Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona confided in her 809,000 followers, telling them that she was now an “aging ex popstar”.

The singer and reality star, 42, posted a selfie looking slightly under the weather, wearing her black glasses and wrapped up in a dressing gown, with her hair pulled up into a messy bun.

She added a candid caption, writing: “This is what an aging ex popstar looks like full of the flu!”, followed by a shocked face emoji.

Kerry’s health update comes one day after she told her fans that she had rushed herself to A&E over breathing difficulties caused by a swollen throat.

In her new! magazine column, she wrote: “I’m really swollen and it hasn’t got any better. I ended up going to A&E as I was so worried about it.

Speaking on how the moment came about, Kerry further revealed: “I was lying down in bed and I felt like I couldn’t breathe.”

“My throat and chest felt really tight, it was awful. I felt like I was going to die. My body has been swollen since I had surgery last year. My whole body is sore and puffy – my legs, my stomach, my face, my neck. I feel like I need popping,” she continued.

Kerry recently confessed that she didn’t regret using drugs, admitting that she had “many good times” using substances, and used them as a coping mechanism.

Speaking to Keith Lemon and Lucie Cave on the Back Then When podcast, she discussed her infamous appearance on This Morning, where she slurred her words, causing many viewers to be concerned for her wellbeing.

“Honest to god I stuffed enough s*** up my nose to last me for a lifetime,” she said before adding: “I was using drugs as a coping mechanism, and I don’t regret it. I’ve had many good times on drugs.”

Kerry stated: “I can’t regret it. I’ve got to accept it and move on from it. It is what it is. There’s no mistakes, only lessons.”
