Meghan Markle has 'always been welcomed' by royals but her in-laws 'aren't easy'

Changing Rooms star Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has opened up about his thoughts on Meghan Markle.

The interior design icon has argued that the royal family have been “going out of their way” to include Meghan lately.

This comes after the passing of the late Queen Elizabeth II who died on September 8.

Laurence exclusively told the Daily Star: “I think it’s difficult for someone like her to get the balance right but the big thing we can all see happening is that the rest of the royal family are going out of their way to make her feel like she does feel part of what’s going on and feel very cherished.”

“They’ve made a real point about that and when you look back at all the to-ing and fro-ing it was all conjecture. We don’t know at all, we don’t know the conversations being had or what was being said we don know whether people were making her feel welcome or not.

“But to me, it looks very much as if she’s always been welcome. In-laws are never easy, my goodness, but royal in-laws, wow, that’s complicated.”

Laurence also spoke about his TV pal Simon Cowell – who he has particular concerns for.

He said: “I am slightly concerned about Simon Cowell moving to the Cotswolds. I know Simon, he is a lovely man. We do a lot of charity work together but I also know that he has a fixation on minimalism.

“I think the idea of picking a fine ‘ole Cotswolds manor house very much like mine and painting it all white and making the windows bigger is going to lead to a very strange place.”

When asked if Simon would let him revamp his abode, Laurence laughed: “He fears me, he fears me doing exactly that more than anything.

“I think he’s deliberately making sure that I don’t know where he lives so I don’t let myself in and do something with it. I think he’s a great human being.”

He also took the time to pick holes in his samey style and quipped: “But he is a funny thing, you know, we’re dealing with someone who has exactly whatever it is 250 T-shirts. It’s not the way that we live my friend.”

The TV legend has just released his new book More More More: Making Maximalism Work in Your Home and Life.
